I never received any talk about sex from my parents and my cousin seemed embarrased to engage with me when discussing private parts. Why is something as natural as sex, made taboo in our society?

I don't know.. there's still a lot for me to learn and I'm eighteen. It definitely is a taboo subject, even concerning puberty.

Religion created sex taboo in social norms. There’s more and more sex positivity coming into play which is nice to see. Will take at least a century till it’s no longer taboo.

Sucks bad, as they don’t just deprive us of education about sex- we’re deprived of education on puberty too. I had no idea what periods were when I first had mine. Thought I was dying from cancer and hid it from everyone, as we had a death in the family from cancer and two cancer deaths would have been horrific. And even when I finally opened up, I got no explanation or reassurance- just thick pads which were very uncomfortable. My periods used to last three weeks and Id bleed through anything in an hour. I didn’t know that wasn’t normal. I didn’t know vaginal discharge can stain underwear. In fact it stains black underwear red. I didn’t know the shape of the clitoris. Not a dot, but a larger structure which is quite beautiful. I was told to shave but had to google a lot to learn how. Used to dry shave which was horrible. Lol. It’s been quite the learning process.

@ceasetobreathe03 Happy to answer any questions you ever have about female health or sex education. It’s part of my job and I had to teach myself.

UK. Glad to hear sex education is good there. :) I’m all for educating people about themselves.

That’s my traumatic experience. Didn’t use lube, got really injured and wound up with a severe kidney infection.

Because we have a high level of intelligence comparatively speaking. This leads us to self awareness and we can see nakedness, intimacy and voyeurism as embarrassing, then when we enjoy it, it can sometimes evoke guilt too.
We can also see our faults and we are exposed and clever enough to understand that exposure, after millennia of clothes wearing, has conditioned us to hide our primary and secondary sexual characteristics form open view.
Remember how Adam and Eve covered themselves after they ate fruit from the Tree of Knowledge?

Question back: Why do you post so many taboo or provocative topics and then not engage in any of the conversations or even react to comments?
I am starting to think they are a troll. Something isn’t right.
The voice message they put up-if the subject matter was not made up-was creepy and stalker-ish. Then there was the question alluding to how people should allow and be okay with the opposite sex strip searching them. (Srsly..)
Not to mention the one about being sexually attracted to their cousin and how it is a shame the cousin doesn’t return said “affections”.

//

It’s no wonder your cousin doesn’t want to talk about sex and private parts with you OP, esp if it’s the same cousin you want to ENGAGE in sex WITH.
You posted once asking people to tell you what mental illness you have...well probably something to do with not understanding social cues...if you are really not aware of how some of your commentary comes across, which is hard to believe. (Tho you sound young, so maybe that has something to do with it..)
Most people on here seem to have given you the benefit of the doubt regardless.

..But I am going to be frank with you. Idk if there is a genuine reason for you being on this website or if it’s turned into something else, but be aware that several of your posts that are popping up are throwing major red flags into my line of vision and with the recent attention to the worry of scammers and creeps on this site, you may very well end up getting yourself reported on more than one occasion. I would curb whatever this is, if I were you. For your own good. Especially if you actually need to be here.

I agree. He acts like a troll at best and a predator at worst.

It seems that, if he's a troll, he provokes to sit back and watch everyone react so he can be amused/aroused.

But he seems far more to be predatory. Including the thread with the voice recording, in which he brought up that people think he's a pedophile. And questions about incest being okay, and now this one about his cousin, who he's mentioned before. And all the other things you mentioned. As well as trying to get people to pay close attention to him by diagnosing him.

Predators often greenlight, that is, do something to raise a red flag, and if someone is willing to overlook it or rationalize it, then proceed with more red flags, and the more they can get someone to greenlight the behavior, the worse they'll get, drawing it out or acting quickly depending on the game they're playing. On a site like this, people are more likely to be compassionate and willing to explain away troubling behaviors because they're presented as someone mutually seeking support and acceptance.

This member's posts escalate in provocative creepiness and draw people in to participate, like a kind of grooming and selection process. I wouldn't be surprised if he's very active in PMs, choosing from those who comment and react, then garnering pity, getting people to share personal things, and being increasingly creepy. Often because of the grooming and escalation, by the time the person is ready to report the predator, they're embarrassed because they were manipulated to seem like they went along with it and have some responsibility for what was done to them,and/or share something they would be embarrassed for a mod to read, so they have to choose between further victimization or the predator getting away with it. In the process, there will often be an underlying refusal to agree, such as not participating in what he started, not being reciprocal, not agreeing that things mean what they mean, etc.

He could also find co-predators through thread comments.

I don't know him, I admit I could be wrong about him, but his behaviors fit this kind of predatory pattern. There are plenty of predators on this site, so if he is not one of them, then at least someone who reads this post may be able to protect themselves having been made aware of what the behavior looks like.
