For those seeking help, whether you've received treatment before or not, this is an extremely effective tool in countering anxious and depressing thoughts.

First, jot down your fear. What are you afraid will happen?

Next, come up with the evidence you feel supports your fear.

Then, analyze each bit of evidence. If your evidence is true, does it mean necessarily that the fear is true? Why might your evidence be wrong or flawed? What contradictory evidence is there, if any?

When this is complete, analyze your work and decide how likely your fears are to come true, given the evidence provided, on a scale of 1 to 5.

Hope this is helpful!
