I'm interested in killing myself by using a generator to create large amounts of CO. The problem I have with it is getting a generator to my house when my mom and brother aren't home. They are away for 2 days on certain weekends. That's my chance. I thought of walking a generator from a store to my house, but people may find that to be strange and suspicious. I could have it delivered either from Amazon or a store near me like Menards, but then I'm worried that it would end up arriving when my mom and brother are home. That could happen even if the delivery time frame is within the period they are away.

Please advise

Do stores sell carbon monoxide generators? Are you within walking distance to a carbon monoxide store ? Lol, just kidding, but are you?
The ppeh outlines pretty good means of sourcing CO . If you don’t have transportation, you may be limited to smaller boxed home delivery and try to get to it first when it arrives. Maybe try to plan to have it delivered when your family leaves for 2 days.

I didn't mean CO generator. I meant gas generator which is used to power things. The burning of the gas by these machines produces CO. I am in walking distance of certain stores that sell them but I'm afraid the store would find me needing to walk home with a generator to be strange. Not only that but also police or ordinary people that see me walking with a generator might find it suspicious.

Chemical generation of CO is likely much easier. How old are you?

it's really unlikely anyone will care about you walking with what they will just see as a random piece of equipment to your house. Nobody really cares about what others are doing unless you bother them.

Are you meaning chemical generation as in formic acid and sulfuric acid?

Probably not, but what about the store. They might ask me questions and why I need to walk it home.

simple- you don’t have a car, and you don’t mind walking.

I'm preety sure any generator you could buy new from a store nowadays might not be suitable. their is far too much precaution over CO nowadays, the companys that produce these things ceratainly don't want law suits against them for deaths related to their products.

You may be able to doctor one, but i have a feeling any damaged safety device etc will make the machine not work. I'm going off the basis of a gas central heating boiler. produces CO, can be highly dangerous. has numerous safety devices to stop it working at the slightest inc of a problem.

I know its a generator so its different, but someone else was saying about certain regulations the new generators have. from what i read they have to meet regulations to do with the amount of CO released,in turn they are going to have safety devices aswell IMO.

like new cars have a catalytic convertor, i imagine new generators have something the same/similar

OP, ya, CO may be a lot harder and unreliable then you may imagine. Again, in terms of peaceful, available, reliable means of dying, I think you should ‘know’ about the peaceful pill ehandbook created by exit international, a pro euthanasia and pro choice group.
Not encouraging you to suicide, that is an absolute last resort, , but i think we shouldn’t be afraid to have access to this information. It can even be empowering and make you live longer.

there is actually another recent thread where all the 'problems' etc has been discussed with another member trying to use the same method.

I think you’re being paranoid.
I don’t think people see a generator & think about people using it go off themselves.

You will look like a dude who stole a generator from said house and taking it to a pawnshop. People who build houses drive to them. Your thought process isn’t the greatest on this one. The generator you find likely won’t work, and you need to think about protecting those who find you. Why you aren’t looking for industrial gases is beyond me.

Looking like I stole the generator is one possibility of many. Worrying about what people think of me walking with a generator isn't being paranoid as was mentioned. I understand that generators are likely being modified in ways making it much more difficult to kill oneself with them. That only makes sense. Perhaps formic acid and sulfuric acid is a better option. I don't like charcoal.

And I thought I was paranoid. No one cares about someone with a generator. The problem I see is unless you are very strong, those are heavy. The small ones with a handle are heavy and the larger ones are on a frame, some with wheels. I don't know how far from the store you are but these are lead and weigh a lot.
