If you have no other choice than this speedy train traveling roughly at 120kmh, how would you position yourself?

Bear in mind I would be opposite a platform (with my back to sound barrier waiting) standing behind a pipe in the snow and dark with some lights.
Would simply emerge from hiding (given the right timing) and stand square in the middle of the tracks giving the driver almost no time to break.
I believe based on my height and the height of the bevel (in the middle where engine extrusion occurs) that it would hit me in the back of the head.
Have also considered standing on one of the tracks so I impact with the engine connector.
What are your thoughts, am I over thinking things?

So are you still considering decap or have you switched to standing?

I have a hard time figuring out the proportions of objects on the picture, generally speaking.

I think I will go with standing.
A "clean" decap or getting cut "in half" seems like a pipe dream.

Might you derail the train if you're lying on the track?

In the uk a leaf on the line fucks it up
I read about that.
But that's only when it happens allot and repeatedly (usually only autumn).
I would understand your argument if there were as many people jumping in front of trains as there are leaves on the tracks all year round.
It's simply not comparable.

Front and center, assume the position style.

I would probably stand and try to get the front of the train to impact my head and chest at the same time while facing it.

Are you wanting to be hit from behind on the back?

Still dead set on traumatising a bystander on your way out?

400+ metric tons hitting you at 120km/h? Positioning doesn't matter.
The wheel(s) will slice whatever is on the rail clean off, if you're standing/crouching in the middle of the tracks there won't be enough of you left in one piece to identify you with certainty.

I'm somewhat concerned about getting under the train (safe area inbetween the rails) or knocked aside and live with the injuries.

Mate you get me wrong it wasn't an argument I was just inquiring after seeing the picture. Jumping the train is my second preferred method because it's quick. I'm sorry of you thought I was judging you. I really wasn't x

One line's electric here as well so you'd be thrown off....in England you'd have to jump off the platform at a train that ain't stopping.

Front and center? I don't quite understand, could you elaborate?

Yes, preferably from behind.
Still dead set on traumatising a bystander on your way out?
At my time of choosing in the late evening there is never anyone on the platform.

Alternative, would you consider a subway instead and touch the third rail?

There are no subways near by.
Also they seem too slow because they stop right.
Third rail?

Why are rails not operating?
What country are you in?
the third rail is the rail that carries electricity to power the subway car. if you touch it, you will be electricuted, often fatally.

I think the bystander they were referring to is the train conductor. They might not see the carnage but I imagine that just knowing they were behind the wheel is traumatic for them. But every man for himself I guess, if this method is your only viable option

What if... I would stand in front of the train, tilted, with the top of my head facing the train? Sounds like a mighty punch in the head + getting scrambled all over the place.

As in back to the future 3, find point A in google map, find point B, find the distance between point A and B, clock the time between A and B, delta T.

When the train approaches, jump head first.

I would lie down with my neck resting on the edges of the rails, so I would be beheaded or else my entire top would be torn apart. I don't think I would feel anything

I'm also considering headbutting the train.
No pain and instant death.
