I have read up to the 22nd page of this thread but now that I have been accepted I can’t wait any longer to find peace. I have decided to use a 2 meter long iPhone charger as my rope. The only issue is I will be using a sliding door as my “bar” to hang from. I just wanted to know if this would be an issue when having convulsions and if it would result in me surviving or just not being completely dead. View attachment 45226
To add the cable is tied very tight and has a secure end I do not see it loosening my only issue is the sliding door. I’ve considered my closet and shower bar and have found this to be the most secure. The other bend from me just pulling very hard so I do not want to use it.
I'm unsure what you weigh etc but them sliding doors come of the rollers v easily. It might not totally pull the door off but there's definately a risk of it jolting off the tracks. the door in the pick doesn't look to thick to me either. I'm worried you might pull the door off thats all

I did the same but somehow I do something wrong. I've even followed the neck positions in the wiki

What is your anchor point?
I might give it a try tonight. I can just about make myself pass out when I strangle myself with a belt. Time to try the next step.

What’s with all the barbed wire in the background?

My only options are the door or the bar in the wardrobe unfortunately

Should the rope be as tight around your neck as possible?

It is an advantage if the rope is tight around the neck.

If the loop is too big, the pressure on the arteries may be less. Because the rope can take a steeper angle.

But that doesn't mean it doesn't work

Is that why a slip knot is recommended because it tightens and will keep applying pressure to your neck

As time slowly runs out, SI towards full suspension has perceptibly diminished. If it's any help for those planning to use this method, just remember that once you take that step, there is no going back unless interrupted or havinng poorly planned. If you're ready and there is nothing holding you back, death is certain. I was concerned about visible marks left on my neck if I happened to survive, but considering that the mentioned scenarios won't be happening and I will definitely die, that concern is gone.

So I know extendable dog leashes were mentioned, but has anyone tried a standard not extending one? The ones for large dogs would hold more than enough weight and are much easier to get then ropes. For both extending and standard leashes is there a reason are not used more?

Mine SI has also diminished. Won’t you put something between the neck and rope to decrease the pain?

I will probably put something soft to pad the rope, but my 12mm rope is as thick as I want to go. I will also order a 10mm one to compare as I suspect it would make for an ideal combination with padding. For reference, the circumference of my neck is roughly 34cm.

This is my setup for partial suspension - currently it does not work very well. I have tried it multiple times: I put the rope around my neck, the knot goes behind my head, then i kneel down and push forward. But i never manage to pass out properly, my mouth and tounge go numb and i hear a faint ringing, but internally i count to 40 and nothing happened. Then i stop because i am a coward.

Any ideas on how to make ligature more comfortable. I though about wire covering but I feel it will take to long to arrive. Any homemade solutions that worked for u. I am using a nylon rope.

A thin scarf or a fine cloth.
Vaseline to make the rope slide better.

You're guaranteed not to be a coward if you count on 40.

If it worked, you couldn't count that long.

You say you push forward. Then your position is wrong.
Even with partial hanging, gravity should do the work.

Can you really kneel when you are in the noose we see in the picture?

Then it's pretty clear what the problem is. The noose is way too close to the beam.

Either you take the sling higher so that you can no longer kneel and your body is hanging in the sling.

Or you make the distance to the bar larger so that your upper body has a more forward position and gravity can act

Do you think a garage overhead storage would be a good anchor point?

If you ask that, then I have to say no very clearly. I don't think garage overhead storage is a good anchor point.

Do you know why?

Because I have absolutely no way of evaluating your anchor point. I don't know how well it is attached

Pulling down on it, it seems sturdy. And it’s carrying some heavy stuff. The bars are thin like a shopping cart, I don’t know if that’s an issue.

It wont probably be the bars that are the problem. its more likely going to be how they are fixed/what they are fixed too. are they welded for instance?

It looks like this(not mine, just a random pic). It’s bolted into the ceiling. There are actually thicker bars underneath like in this picture.

Its crazy reading the methods of current celebrity suicides and past suicides by artists, intellectuals and the like because it seemed so easy for them. Many attempts and I get paltry results. Can't seem to get my arteries completely shut. I'm a thin man as well.

i cant fully judge how thick the bars are, i would expect them to be hollow though. where they are fixed to the ceilling would be the important part to check. i assume timber? depends on size of screws etc. looks like you have a bit of weight up there, wether its the same as you weigh only you will know that
