Planning to ctb by partial suspension. I live with my parents barge in whenever. I would have approximately an hour to do it, from setting it up to offing myself.

I wanted to know how long it takes to die by partial suspension from beginning to the end. Even if I did a shitty job that took me more than a minute to pass out, I should die at most within 15-20 minutes right?

Google is completely useless when it comes to questions like these, instead I’m spammed with stupid suicide helpline numbers.

This thread may also be used to ask other questions about partial suspension

Yeah, 15-20 minutes is about the time it takes. I think it can be as little as 10 minutes if you compress the carotid arteries. Personally I’d leave more than an hour to allow time to set up. When I attempted partial before I couldn’t compress the arteries fast enough so it might take you a few tries which could very easily mean you don’t have enough time to successfully ctb

Hi there! For starters- maybe you should try moving out; or living with other family members before you make a big decision. But onto the question- I wanted to ctb with partial suspension maybe 2 months ago, and my friend called the cops on me and I went to a psych ward TWICE but I know a thing or two about partial suspension. So it helps to use layers of cloth on the rope because it still cuts off the blood circulation in your carotid arteries however it’s easier to breathe and it helps with the constant urge to swallow. It shouldn’t take long (and alcohol should help this part) with the stopping the blood flow process. Then at this point (doesn’t take long, maybe tops a minute or two) would be the point where if you didn’t want to go through with the process you would attempt to leave the noose. However with the siphoning effect, when you stand the blood would instantly drain from your head making you dizzy and unconscious. So now you are totally unconscious and would fall (but it happens so fast you won’t be able to make it out of the noose it’s in seconds) so you’re body would die I think it was in 4-7 minutes, but like I stated you would be unconscious that whole time. It’s just getting to that point of unconsciousness

I heard practice makes perfect for this very reason. Hitting the sweet spot may be difficult

Hey thanks for the detailed reply and thanks for the welcome. Moving out isn’t an option unfortunately I have no friends and I am too autistic to make friends. My parents have me hostage, they don’t let me have a job, they keep a tab on what I buy and where I go. My dad got violent the last time I argued with him and told him i wanted to move out. He’s insane and wouldn’t mind lying to the cops to get me back home and beat me senseless

I feel trapped in this life, I have seen years go by and nothing has happened in my life. It’s just so dull.. and I don’t have the skills to show the middle finger to my parents and move out.

I am 23 already and life is miserable for me. To put the cherry on top of this shitcake I recently found out a girl I was in a long distance relationship with cheated on me and now is dating some 30 year old bald f*ck. She posts sexual stuff aimed at her new daddy bf and what not. Shit is annoying and just kills me to see her in someone else’s arms.

Anyways, yeah I am planning to ctb by either partial or train method before the week ends.

Well I thought I was trapped too and someone helped me. If your Dad beats you, I think the cops should definitely get involved. I just got out of the psych ward (second time) and tell them the honest truth and they will help you find a new home. At least the place I went to did. They don’t want to see people cutting the bus. If you need help I will help you. If you want I will call the cops to come to you. I just need your address and state I have no idea where you are. But I am willing to help

Hey dude, you’re 23. Unless you’re parents are your legal decision makers (I forget the legal term) you’re free to leave. Just putting it out there your parents don’t have the control on you like you think they do.

I know but I can’t go anywhere. I’m not a US citizen but I am living in the US because my parents live here.

I was wondering will the shelters in the US help a non citizen like me? I am a Canadian citizen. I had plans to run away today actually but right now I’m at the hospital for mom’s surgery.

I have no idea where I’d go if I moved out and my mental issues will still be unresolved. I honestly don’t wanna see my parents again, just wanna go to parties, become a punk and live a good life for once instead of worrying about exams, my scores and my future

From what province? If you let the consulate know in Toronto, we might be able to get you back. Worth a shot at least, but it will screw with your parents “status” in the US so keep that in mind.

Not to sound like a pro-lifer but have you considered moving back to Canada? Pretty sure our government will help you.

Your situation seems to be like mine was a few years ago. What year are you in in college? Could you let your college know? They might help you into a safe situation. Honestly dude, I’d hate for you to off yourself when it seems like you haven’t experienced life yet.

I am from Ontario, Toronto to be exact. I come from an immigrant family. Strictly speaking my parents aren’t abusive in the literal sense but they restrict my freedom severely. I’m not allowed to hangout with friends, can’t be out of house after 8pm, can’t drink or smoke, can’t do a job because it would fuck with my studies. I was wondering if my college would inform my parents if I told them about my situation? The last time my dad tried to spy on my grades and asked my college dean about my marks he straight up told him that I am an adult so he can’t divulge my information to my dad.

My dad was so furious lol..

My parents have stunted me and they live in their own boring world, they don’t care about my depression and just tell me get over it. I respectfully talked to my mom and told her I can’t handle this pressure anymore but she just gave me a lecture about how they fully support me and understand my situation and to basically just deal with it.

I was in what I thought in an online relationship with a German girl but turns out she was cheating and had her boyfriend back in Germany.. now she ignores me and treats me like dirt. I was planning to pack my clothes, phone and laptop, take out about $1000-2000 in cash, book a greyhound ticket to Toronto from Florida and just disappear. I wonder if my parents can file a police complaint against me because my phone and laptop was bought by my parents and given as a gift to me for my use.

Sooner or later they will find out where I live and try to take me back. My dad doesn’t mind contacting goons or kidnappers to get things done, never saw him do it but he did threaten me with that once as well.

Then I’ll just block them on all my social media and move on.. but my parents know my friends and they might tell them about me.

I am honestly fed up of med school and living this boring life where I don’t feel like I am going anywhere. What can Canadian embassy do? Can they somehow transport me back to Canada and give me temporary shelter till I find a job and become independent? Is that possible?

Thanks a lot for your kind words as well, 2017 was a good year for me, I made a lot of friends, was away from the boring life at home from my controlling parents and was starting to live my life. I also wanted to come back to work in the US..

I really want to get out of my situation but I don’t have money.. I am willing to work a office job to support myself and pay my rent. I don’t intend on living on welfare or whatever. I just want to meet new people and start a new chapter away from the fear of my dad. He buys me food and everything but when it comes to real independence, I never get any.

I just don’t want the police to arrest me for theft or anything criminal because I took some things from home to run away. I also intend to take my parents car to drive till the greyhound bus stop, take the cash out from a nearby atm and then hop on..

My parents keep a strict watch on my credit and debit accounts so I can’t book the ticket online or by using my cards.

Anyone know of any bus service where I can buy the ticket just half an hour before the bus leaves and just hop on?

I feel like I’m in prison and nothing ever changes because of my controlling parents. I have lost the will to live especially after the german girl screwed me over and treated me like trash.

I have Canadian citizenship but I’ll have to travel across the US to get to Canada.. US police might be on the lookout for me while I’m travelling and at the border, especially if my parents choose to file a theft report against me. I don’t want to be homeless in Canadian winters, otherwise I don’t have any problem with running away to Toronto at all. I made some real good friends there and I was there recently because my B1 visa had expired.. I had to wait in Canada for a month before coming back to US.

I really want a new start in life without my parents and their burden. They ruined by teenage years and now they are ruining my 20s. I just want to run away from it all.. do you know how I can run away to Canada safely? What documents should I bring with me? I was planning to get my health card, sin card, birth certificate, high school diploma and passport with me. I think that should be enough if I ever have to use Canadian social welfare system which I will have to because I have no money.

If I could somehow leave it all behind while continuing my education, it’d be even better.

I am not sure if the police would succeed in getting me out of my home and deporting me back to Canada and if they do I’m not sure if I’d ever be allowed in US again..

I’m from Florida actually, are you from US or somewhere else? How did you manage to get out of your situation and how were you able to find a job and everything to sustain yourself?

I just wanna disappear from my parent’s life and live life on my own terms. I can’t do that when my parents have such a tight control on me. If you can help me out by telling me how to move out of my house, that’d be great!!

Most hospitals have a social worker somewhere. Is it possible for you to get away for a little while and try to explain that you need to speak to someone urgently and are being abused?

I mean I can get away for 2-3 hours max, also will social workers actually care about some 23 year old guy? wouldn't they want to verify my story? I don't have proof to show. Also they will eventually contact my parents which will create more drama for me. I am not sure how to about with that.

The best thing I can do is drive to the airport, take out 2000 dollars from an atm nearby (700 is the limit i think) and then book a ticket to canada and bail. Even if my parents find my car, they probably won't know where i went.. maybe if they ask the airport security they might be able to figure it out but can i be arrested or detained in canada or can they somehow make an entire flight come back to the airport?

once i manage to fly away to toronto, i should be able to contact one of my friends and ask for their help. Once that is set, i can start looking for a job and move to some decent apartment of my own.

I do not know much about US. If you can get to a shelter for even a night or two the workers there can set up social workers, low cost rentals, temporary work help, and other resources. If your passport doesnt say explicitely dual citizen do not do a one way ticket, way more likely to get turned away at the border.

But I am a Canadian citizen, they can't turn me way. I might have problems entering US again but that's something I'd have to live with I guess

Could you get yourself to Champlain, New York? There are grassroots organizations that are currently helping migrants walk across the border into Canada. THAT would be your best bet. Walk across the border into Quebec. You’ll get temporary housing while they help you with your situation. All you do is walk across the border, it’s literally that easy.

Not sure if you’d be allowed back in the US under this administration though. You probably will, but you’re kinda like a DACA kid without the papers so I’m not totally sure about that.

As long as you are a citizen yes that makes sense. They wouldnt turn around an entire plane no, likely extradite and then youd be on the hook for return payment but this doesnt seem to be your situation.

Have you been to Toronto before? I do not know much aside from that it is expensive, again an agency can help get you set up if you are fleeing a situation. Are you able to start calling anything in Canada or Toronto now from where you are and begin llooking into your options?

I have contacts with some roommates of mine from back in Toronto, not sure if they will accommodate me most likely won’t. I’d agree to pay part of the rent and then kill myself

Maybe I should call a shelter as well, will do it from my phone or landline..if they call back I might get in trouble.

Aaah I don’t know what to do atm.

Ok I get that this is weird to offer. And I dont want to get in the way of your plans or life, your choices of course. But I would like to call some thibgs and see if we can get a game plan of where to go and what to do for at least your first few days in the chance that your friends cant come through.
Last Id want is you getting hurt. And no worries ob me being a super creep I am extremely far from Toronto.

Do you want me to find some housing optiins for you atm? Ill stay online until you give green or red light.

And no is ok too, random stranger and all.

Sure if you have any idea or can help me out please do!! I am really depressed and have no social skills so getting a job once I get to Toronto would be hard as hell as well. I was there with roommates who had just arrived to Canada. My roommates might not help me because they wouldn’t want to associate or get in any kind of legal trouble for sheltering me. Most likely my parents will come looking for me as well.

What’s a good place to hang myself outdoors? Or I can book a motel of some sort and then hang my self there. I am running out of time and having zero options is killing me.

Also do they sell SN in Canada? Is it affordable? I so would love to get my hands on SN and pass away for good

I’ll try handing myself tonight, if for whatever reason I don’t succeed or pussy out, I’ll pack just one bag full of my clothes and go back to Canada.

Assuming of course Canadian customs don’t hold me because I was missing or whatever.

I don’t know what I’ll do in Toronto but I do want freedom. Most likely kill myself after visiting some old friends and what not.

I just don’t want to exist anymore, I’ve felt like this for last 7 years, probably more

You are an adult, they cannot hold you. You likely have 24 - 48 hours before authorities get going as any adult can board a plane and move if they like. You are breaking no laws.
What you absolutely need is whatever documents that state you are a Canadian citizen. Do you have them on you right now?

You are an adult, they cannot hold you. You likely have 24 - 48 hours before authorities get going as any adult can board a plane and move if they like. You are breaking no laws.
What you absolutely need is whatever documents that state you are a Canadian citizen. Do you have them on you right now?
I mean I have my passport, my Canadian driving license, my SIN card, my health card (OHIP) , couldn’t find my birth certificate but I’ll search again.

That should be enough I think

But I’ll be stealing money from them, some 2000 bucks if the atm actually spits it out. The flight ticket is around 177 dollars, if I buy it at the airport it would be 200 or 220. They can book me for stealing their money and their car which I will use to get to the airport which is like an hour from here and there no bus services where I live so I would have to either walk or use my dads car.

Dad goes to work at 9 comes home at 5. So I have about 8 hours to do this, he would know when I withdraw money, especially 2000 so I’d have to book the flight about 30 mins before I board or I’ll have just withdraw 200 and hope the cards won’t be cancelled when I reach Canada

I just don’t want to exist anymore, I’ve felt like this for last 7 years, probably more
Can you get it out of you mf’ing head once you cross the border that’s it. Your parents can’t do anything. They legally can’t do anything anyways once you leave (so long as you didn’t steal anything) because you’re an ADULT.

Hey do what works right now. You are fleeing a shit situation, you need to take care of you first. If you can actually obtain that money my opionion is get it on the way and keep going

You need all the documents you possibly can, I do not know if a birth cert is necessary but if you know where it is get is ASAP

From the airport you can call on any payphone for free
1 877 338 3398

This is central intake, they will put you in a shelter. I dont know your gender so if they arent helping take a cab to

412 Queen St E by 5pm if they are full they will help you get somewhere. It is men only however.
This is a 70$ cab ride from the airport

There is also Fred V open 24 hours women only on Church and Adelaide
416 392 9292

Now once you are set up in a shelter Do Not tell anyone what money you have on you. Fucking duct tape it to your stomach homeless people arent your friends and this is temporary.
Sleep with that taped or strapped to you, and tell no one you have any cash

From a shelter you are going to apply to Ontario works, it wont be good money but it will get you rent and food. Again do not tell anyone about your money honesty isnt an issue this is an urgent situation

Ontario works
705 722 3132

You can at least rent a room on what you get from these programs but I cant stress enough to have a shitload of paperwork that says you are basically canadian. It might not be instant, or they can hook you up with urgent assistance, depending.

Withdraw everything you can IMO
If no please please get your birth cert as it is needed for Ontario Works.
They will give you money just have all the docs possible at all

I wouldnt use cards internationally as some may not work, it is risky to depend on money you dont physically hold in your hand being there
