how can it be that alcohol and tobaco are ok drugs for gov? while shrroms, lsd and other safe "drugs" are illegal and they treat you like a criminal for doing with your body what you want? innocent people are made to criminals, the system abuses those more than any drug could. fuck this twisted system...

The most interesting part is that most of those drugs have been legal at some point in history. Cocaine and heroin, for example, were widely used as medicine on the first half of the 20 century.

Alcohol is extremely hard to criminalize regardless of how harmful it is. It has already been tried and it went horribly, the prohibition only managed to make crime skyrocket and it's part of the reason why some criminal groups got so strong. also, it's so easy to produce that anyone can do it in their homes.

I'm of the opinion that everything should be legal, all of these substances have their side effects and even psilocybin and LSD can be extremelly harmful to some people who are at risk of schizophrenia. But taking the right to make a choice away from people is just as harmful, the reason my country is so fucked is because of the war on drugs that ended up harming everyone instead of helping us. A better alternative would've been to legalize and heavily regulate these substances, however, any politician who tried to push for something like this ended up killing themselves with 3 shots at the back of their heads or with explosives on their vehicles. Drug lords had nothing to do with it, definitely...

Nixon made drugs public enemy number 1 so they could crack down on minorities '' You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities.'' I'm certain the rest of the world just followed along.

Also private prisons make a lot of money. The government benefits greatly from it so why would they stop?

Halluciogens especially are deemed "anti-social" by society. If everyone was doing acid all the time, the people that do all the mundane jobs that keep our society functioning, might not be so accepting of their position. The 60s indicated this could be an issue, which is a big factor in why their use is subject to such extensive penalties.

Drug criminalization turns a profit for the pigs and the private prison industry. There's no rational reason why drugs like psychedelics are criminalized.
Gotta keep the prison industrial complex moving right? God forbid people are compensated fairly for their labor, just criminalize harmless easy to obtain drugs so that you can throw minorities in pens on bogus charges that force them to stay there forever while being paid literal packing peanuts for their labor. And people wonder why folks who have drug charges are either driven to commit more crimes just to survive or turn to suicide as a way out.
