Homemade Debreather System - I don't know if this works or not. It was just an idea I had after reading this thread.
The working principle of a debreather is simple. It's a closed-circuit breathing system used in inhalation anesthesia. If you don't understand it, there are lots of trheads to learn about it. To make this debreather, one needs a tiny closed space -the smaller the better-, an air pump, PVC pipe and conections, carbon dioxide absorbent (soda lime) and silicone or other material for air insulation. As in the picture, the air pump sucks the air from the box and sends it to the "yellow" pipe filled with soda lime. The soda lime then absorbs the CO2. The carbon dioxide free air returns to the box again. As one breathes the O2 and CO2 in the box will continuously decrease. Only Nitrogen remains. The important point is a good air insulation.
What do you think about that?
