Has anyone else gotten better at not caring what others think of suicide?

My parents, psychiatrist and my friend thinks it's fine to section people against their will and that suicide is irrational. I mean I've kinda just given up and looking for people to relate to in real life so as usual I'm just accepting myself and ignoring others opinions. Does this bother anyone else that other people will interpret your life as some type of mental health related bullshit? Regardless if you're mentally ill or not it doesn't negate the fact of your feelings towards life. I mean it's probably inevitable that someone will label you a coward, a victim of mental illness or something else but does it bother you guys?

Yes, it annoys me very much. I make a habit of not intrinsically caring what others think, but of course it has political and practical consequences that can completely fuck with your choice set.

I don’t care if someone labels me a coward, to be honest I think it takes courage to end your life. What I’m more worried about is hurting the people I love but at the same time I’ll be dead so it doesn’t really matter.

I never cared what pro-lifers think but if they obstruct my attempts I'll start to care. I'd rather give the teenage girl who just broke up with her boyfriend the right to die than take that right away from the one who can no longer find joy in living.

Yeah I wished people didn't already have preconceived notions on suicide and actually take the time and patience to learn "why". However, that simply is too much to expect of them, and even if I do go through with it and write a note, it would likely still be misconstrued, misrepresented, and perhaps even politicized for their own agendas. But at the minimum, it does bring some "closure" to certain people in my life (it's mostly for them, not for me) and while it's true that if I'm dead, what happens afterwards (reaction, their lives, opinions, etc.) is irrelevant.

@Astral316 Same here, and I hate it when these pro-lifers (suicide preventionists) decide to meddle into my business and impose their will on me. It's never about me, it's only about their ego, their feelings, and their beliefs. Then for the government, it's about what I can bring for them (taxes and labor, services, etc.). Such a mad clown world.

No, not a bit.
First of all, thanks to my reserved and anti social lifestyle i don't know too many people. In fact i no longer even have aquaintances from my school times. In college i'm a ghost. I just shake hands with 2 or 3 guys and that's it.
I would like to think that because of this few people would know about my death. However if i look at this with a more in depth and realistic view, i realise that the persons who surround my family will know and it will spread like wildfire, specially thanks to my granparents living on a small town where everyone knows each other.
However if by the time i ctb my grandparents have already died, this news widespread will atone a bit.
There is always my father and aunt, but they won't flap their gums as much as my grandparents.
Does it bother me what other people will think of my suicide or my mental health? Not at all. Just as i don't care what they think of me now.
It's not like i will be thinking or wondering about it after i die... Haha
I would, however, like to only inform a couple of people about my death in order to not leave them worrying about my whereabouts(the ones who deserve it) and in order to have someone making sure that my body is indeed cremated.
The rest of the people, even some of my family members, i would prefer for them to never know about what happened to me.

I try and end the stigma against suicide whenever I discuss it with people. Most importantly that it’s not selfish and it’s not a cowardly act but actually takes a lot of bravery.

I don't care what anyone thinks. No one really knows I exist so not many people will be talking about me when I'm gone. And if they do I won't know so I won't care. People know my condition and the physical pain I'm in all the time. So while it may come as a surprise to them I don't think it's going to be hard for them to understand why I did it.

Yes, it does bother me. Ultimately there are a lot of horrific ways to die, I can think of quite a number and variety of worse deaths than a relatively peaceful ctb. We live in a very death-averse society and people have been socialized to view suicide in the light you've described.

Very small trap
There was no need to get better because I never care what anyone thinks anyway. You learn to trust your own mind if you live a hard life.

Pro-lifers just invoke contempt in me. Talking to them is like talking to a monkey, nothing you say gets through. It's because THEY assume you are no longer human once you bring it up. Automatically, your rationale is not legitimate to them, whatever it might be.

Let me put it this way, there is many rationales for suicide. Everybody has a different reason, a different condition what could make them live. But the stance of pro-lifers is constant: Whatever you have to say does not matter. Monkeys, the lot of them. Especially those with religion, I hope they have such a mindfuck as they die that they dream they are in hell and the devil is fucking them sideways. That's all they deserve.

I simply do not care anymore what others think about me or my life. Most people are too idiotic or naive to realise that this life that we've constructed is a grand facade with no real indisputable meaning. Perhaps I'm a bit more pessimistic about life after coming to this realisation but I'm better off with the bitter truth than the distorted sense of reality for all my life.

It annoys me a bit right now while I'm alive, but it doesn't matter because when I'm dead I won't care.
