This makes me appreciate my mom. My mom has "had enough" time and time again, she has told us she's gonna kick us out or tells us to get the hell out etc. But she'll never do it. Not unless we're stable and can support ourselves. If I left she'll come looking for me and beg me to come back. I'm so lucky to have her even though she's abusive as fuck. There's no way she can kick us out, it's just impossible. Even my sister, she'll go bring her back after a few weeks lol, even after calling the police. She'll feel guilty and bail her out and bring her back. She has every right to ditch us too, drug use, prostitution, whoring (she's said "this is not a whore house!!" plenty of times), drug dealers, criminal activities etc.
Her motherly bond is strong lol

I'm sorry. People look to family as people that can be relied on in times of need. It's not the case all the time. It really is sad. I wish you luck whatever happens after.

This is so difficult. You say you can't do any better cause your state, meaning it's beyond your will. Then it might be the same case for your mom, she can't do better beyond her will. I agree with the post above suggesting you to bargain. Ask her what do you need to do to stay.

I disagree that playing along, bargaining, or giving in are reasonable or desirable options for several reasons.

It sounds like there is no winning with her, she doesn't allow that. She'll just find another reason to remain dissatisfied and to attack. At this point she may be on a power high and just double down on the demand, no matter what. She doesn't seem to want win-win, only win-lose.

In the meantime, by playing along or making concessions, her controlling behaviors are validated and fed.

Trolls want everyone else to be as miserable as them or more, and they don't seek resolution or reciprocity. She's one of life's trolls.

Getting law enforcement involved may temporarily help and take away her power because it's illegitimate in this case. And she will likely retaliate, whether immediately or later. But if time needs to be bought, then I personally think it's better to do it in an empowered way than to cave and kiss ass. Unless her ego really responds to stroking and the OP can manipulate her like that.

She's waging a battle, and the OP may want to resort to finding her weaknesses in this situation and using them against her in order to maintain his/her rightful position and to self-protect. I guarantee she has at least one weakness that will work to the OP's advantage. Bullies have tons of them. I bet there's something she doesn't want exposed, and that card can be played, and it's especially powerful if it fits the situation. She's trying to expose the OP to the elements and to homelessness, I bet there's something she doesn't want exposed.

Really sorry to hear about your predicament. The only time my mum has said she was going to kick me out was so I could get priority housing as a result, though I've had multiples places of my own. This could turn out to be great for you, strangely, and I hope it does. Anyway, wishing you peace of mind at this difficult time

I deleted my comment because I got the wrong topic thinking to put the comment on another topic in the forum, I had not paid attention, I'm sorry if I offended someone without wanting it.

Hey all. Quick update. I'm still here. She came home, I avoided her so I haven't seen her at all but I've been cleaning my space and trying to pack my things. I don't know how things will be in the morning. I'm still anxious but I did let both of my brothers know she's kicking me out. I don't think I properly expressed the urgency of the situation though. It's been a long day and I'm tired but I'm not out on the street just yet.

Glad you're safe. I'd suggest looking into your options to see if you can stay by someone else. I go to college and was able to stay on campus for a bit. If you cannot leave right now, that's fine. Try to avoid her and keep distance as much as you can. We will be here for you :)

Hey, those are some very good news! Far from perfect and the situation is still pretty bad, but at least you have more time. I hope your mother drops the entire idea of kicking you out, but if not, there has to be a way to find at least temporary shelter. Lots of luck and wishing nothing but the best!

My mom is kicking me out and wants me gone in less than 24 hours because she said my depression is bad for her health and she no longer can stand that I'm holed up in my room and basically not functional. She also basically said no one was going to take me in after my disaster of a manic episode last year.
I already know I have nowhere to go and that I'm a failure and a burden. I regret not ordering SN sooner but I'm ordering it tonight. Hopefully she won't change the locks so I can come by and pick it up. I still haven't been able to get meto though and it seems inadvisable to try to take SN without that.
I struggle with going outside so I'm pretty anxious about the entire thing. I'm just so tired but this gives me the push I need to just end it all.
Where do you live?
